Name: Farmhouse Chicken Chowder
Ingredients: 4 ounces (about 4 slices), bacon, chopped medium; 1 medium, onion, minced; 3 medium, garlic cloves, minced or pressed through a garlic press (about 1 tablespoon); 1 teaspoon, minced fresh thyme leaves or 1/4 teaspoon dried; 1/3 cup, unbleached all-purpose flour; 8 cups, chicken broth; 2 pounds, Yukon Gold potatoes (about 4 medium), peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces; 1 , carrot, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick; 1 , red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and cut into 1/2-inch pieces; 1 cup, heavy cream; 2 cups, shredded cooked chicken; 2 tablespoons, minced fresh parsley leaves; , Salt and ground black pepper
