Ingredients: 2 cups (10 ounces/283 grams), all-purpose flour; 2 tablespoons, granulated sugar; 1 3/4 teaspoons, salt; 16 tablespoons, unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces and chilled; 1 1/2 cups, cold water; 4 , large eggs; 3/4 teaspoon, almond extract; 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces/170 grams), confectioners' sugar, sifted; 3 tablespoons, milk; 1/4 teaspoon, salt; 1/8 teaspoon, almond extract; 3 tablespoons, unsalted butter, melted and cooled; 1/3 cup, sliced almonds, toasted

Our first attempts at this two-dough buttery pastry produced Danish slump pastry. Could we pump up this puff and simplify the process, too?
