Skillet Pasta with Peas and Prosciutto
Peas and pork taste delicious together, but the textural contrast of the two is what really steals the show.
Why This Recipe Works
To make our skillet pasta with peas and prosciutto recipe, we started with a creamy white sauce and added sautéed onion and garlic for flavor. We then added a combination of chicken broth, water, and cream. The pasta absorbed most of the liquid as it cooked and the rest of the liquid reduced to a nice saucy consistency. The peas in our pasta with peas and prosciutto just needed a minute of cooking after the pasta was done to warm through and maintain their fresh, vibrant flavor. As for the prosciutto, we sautéed it briefly in olive oil to crisp it up, then set it aside until the end, when we sprinkled it over the pasta.
