Freezing Whipped Cream

Should you freeze whipped cream in bulk?

Should you freeze whipped cream in bulk?

We've had success in the past freezing small dollops of whipped cream for use in hot chocolate or pudding, but we'd never tried freezing whipped cream in bulk. We whipped a cup of cream with some sugar, froze it for the weekend, and then let it thaw at room temperature. While this whipped cream tasted fine, it was much looser than it had been prior to freezing. Because we most often use whipped cream as a final garnish for our homemade desserts, we wouldn't want to cut corners by using a flat, lifeless splotch of whipped cream and therefore don't recommend freezing it in bulk.
