Charcoal Storage Bag
Charcoal storage bags promise to seal out moisture so your leftover coals are ready for the next grilling session. Do they deliver?
How We Tested
When is a bag that holds a bag a handy thing? When it’s holding 20 pounds of charcoal by way of a sturdy Velcro closure that seals out moisture so that the coals are ready for the next grilling session. Late last year we left a bag of coals in the outdoors in the storage bag for three months, during which it weathered two major storms, a few snow squalls, and countless rainy days. Our coals stayed dry throughout. On days when we grilled, we used the bag to pour out what we needed—the nylon strap along the length of the bag made it easy to hold it in place as we aimed the coals into the chimney starter. Resealing the bag was a simple matter of pressing together the Velcro strips across the top. For backyard grillers who don’t have a shed or a garage, this bag stashes coals neatly and effectively.
