Cheesy Garlic Bread
From Cook's Country
We wanted a cheesy garlic bread recipe that was crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and cheesy on top. Cooking grated garlic over low heat turned it into a sticky, golden paste that was perfect for spreading onto the garlic bread. For our recipe’s potent flavor and just-right cheesy texture, we used a packaged blend of Italian cheeses, and sprinkled some over the supermarket baguette, which we’d chosen for its crisp crust and chewy interior.

The serrated edges on a bread knife can pull off the cheesy crust. To prevent this, place the finished garlic bread cheese side down on a cutting board. Slicing through the crust (rather than the cheese) first will keep the cheese in place.
