Potato and Leek Gratin

Name: Potato and Leek Gratin
Yield: Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients: 2 tablespoons, unsalted butter; 2 pounds, leeks, white and light green parts only, quartered lengthwise, sliced 1/2 inch thick, and washed thoroughly; , Salt and pepper; 4 , garlic cloves, minced; 1/2 cup, dry white wine; 1 cup, chicken broth; 1/2 cup, heavy cream; 2 pounds large, Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/8 inch thick; 2 teaspoons, minced fresh thyme; 4 ounces, Gruyère cheese, shredded (1 cup)
