Ingredients: 4 tablespoons, unsalted butter; 2 cups, half-and-half; 2 large, eggs; 1/4 cup, packed light brown sugar; 2 tablespoons, all-purpose flour; 2 tablespoons, vanilla extract; 2 teaspoons, ground cinnamon; 1/2 teaspoon, salt; 8 slices, hearty white sandwich bread (see note)
