We love apple cobbler, but it just isn't something you can easily enjoy while walking around a party. We wanted to condense this popular dessert and make it a little less messy. Toasting pecans before incorporating them into your recipe brings out their flavor. It is best to toast them in the oven or skillet, but they can be toasted in the microwave in a pinch. Just cook them on high power for two minutes, checking and stirring them every 30 seconds.
Any type of fresh apple would be too juicy for this recipe. We found dried apples and apple butter provided the necessary flavor without the unwanted mess.
