Maple syrup and pancake syrup may look similar, but they are worlds apart when it comes to taste. Use only real maple syrup for this recipe.
Adding both maple syrup and maple extract added extra of maple flavor to our cookies.
Using the underside of a glass to flatten the cookies in the baking pan ensures they will cook through easily and uniformly.
The cookies will spread out as they bake, so be sure to leave enough space for them to expand (2 inches or more) without running into each other.
