Caramel Turtles

These popular caramel, nut, and chocolate confections are a candy store staple. Pecans (the feet and head of the turtle) are glued together with a caramel and chocolate “shell.” They seem easy enough to make that we wanted to prepare them at home. Here’s what we discovered:

  • Spread the nuts on a baking sheet and bake them at 350 degrees until lightly toasted to intensify their flavor.
