Whipping Cream

Is it necessary to refrigerate the bowl and beater before whipping cream? Does it really make a difference?

Is it necessary to refrigerate the bowl and beater before whipping cream? Does it really make a difference?

To put this theory to the test, we whipped batches of cream with both chilled and room-temperature bowls and beaters and found the chilled apparatus only saved a few seconds of whipping time. Chilling the beater and bowl is not necessary for whipping cream; however, it is important that the cream itself is as cold as possible, so make sure that you don’t leave the cream out on the counter before whipping.
