  • Holiday Cookies 2005

The trick to a great holiday cookie is to take traditional ingredients like chocolate and peppermint and give them a twist to create something uniquely your own. It was a tough decision, but in the end our tasters kept coming back for more of one distinctive cookie made with familiar ingredients toffee and chocolate.

  • Quick Pasta Sauces

What's for dinner? Pasta! We received an avalanche of recipes for this contest, and while most would pass muster at anyone's family supper, our five winners were exceptional. Best of all, they can be prepared in about the time it takes to cook the pasta.

  • Chicken Salads

More complex isn't always better. After receiving almost 150 recipes for our chicken salad recipe contest the one that tickled our taste buds the most had just eight ingredients. Inspired by Southern California ingredients, our winner balances the best of chicken salad's traditional richness with bright flavors and spice.

  • Strawberry Desserts

We spent weeks cooking and tasting entries for our strawberry dessert recipe contest (and had lots of fun in the process). Our favorites share a common theme: The unbeatable combination of fresh strawberries and cream.

  • Picnic Salads 2005

A great picnic salad has a lot to live up to. It needs to be great-tasting and healthy, but also able to go anywhere. The winners of our picnic salad recipe contest contained a healthy dose of culinary fireworks, but were classic enough for any gathering.

  • Potato Casseroles

We love potato casseroles and, evidently, you do too. We received hundreds of entries for our potato casserole contest. Our winner, inspired by Italian cuisine, features a crisp exterior and a delicate, soufflé-like interior.
